These are a few different brushes that I use for drawing aliased art in FireAlpaca.

pix.bs

  • A simple square pixel brush that should rarely create jagged edges.

dot2.bs

  • A brush that uses stepped sizes from 1-4px to (hopefully) make drawing with pen pressure look a little nicer at small sizes.

dither.bs, dither2.bs, dither-old.bs, dither2a.bs

  • A brush that uses up to an 8×8 dither pattern.
dither-old.bs retains buggy behavior from an older version when Pattern Size is set to 2 (4×4), as it has a unique pattern.
dither.bs is mostly the same, but without the buggy behavior.
dither2.bs can use any square pattern from 2×2 to 8×8, and has additional options to control the output pattern.
dither2a.bs changes the dithering density with the opacity slider, and adds a "Spacing" setting that can reduce processing load.

ditherize.bs

  • Converts existing pixels to a dither pattern based on either their alpha (transparency) value or their proximity to your foreground & background colors.
  • Note: this brush always draws the background color. If you want to delete the background: switch to the background color, go to the top bar and click Select→Select Foreground Color Range. That will select every pixel with the background color so you can delete the background.

hatch2.bs, hatch2a.bs

  • A brush that can create hatching and cross-hatching patterns at 0°, 22.5°, 45°, 67.5°, and 90°.
The main and cross axes can be controlled independently, allowing for many different patterns.
hatch2a.bs combines the setting for the two axis angle settings to make room for a Spacing setting that can reduce processing load.
